Wolfe
delaware crossing
Todd Wolfe, former Leadguitarist and Songwritingpartner of Sheryl Crow releases the follow-up to the critically acclaimed debut album WOLFE (042 UTM). After extensive European touring in support of this release, both headlining and opening for the likes of Peter Green and Wishbone Ash, WOLFE is back with a vengeance!
Recorded by the same congenial three (Berliner Morgenpost) Todd Wolfe, Dave Hollingsworth and Chuck Hearne that graced European stages and guests like John Popper (Blues Traveler), Wolfe makes the extra leap forward and proves to be the legitimate connection between the early Clapton, Allman Brothers and todays Jam-Band heroes such as GovT Mule.
The album was again recorded at the legendary Showplace Studios, Dover, NJ (Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton) and was engineered by trusted engineer Ben Elliott.
Todd Wolfe is starting to tour Europe in support of this album in February 2003. Dont you dare miss it!!
WOLFE - BIOGRAPHY
"New York Audiences Have Discovered a new blues guitar hero in Wolfe"
-Guitar World Magazine
"Heavyweight guitar heroics from the old school."
-Blues Revue Magazine
What ever the musical setting, Todd Wolfe steps forth with a slash and burn blues guitar style and soulful vocal croon in the spirit of his heroes, Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton, and Otis Rush. Equally at home performing blues standards or his own blues tinged rock & roll originals, when Wolfe touches a guitar, his presence is clearly defined.
From 1993 until 1998, Todd was the featured Lead Guitar player as well as occasional songwriting partner for A & M's multiple Grammy winner, Sheryl Crow. Crow, one of the worlds most acclaimed artists, and her spirited band featuring Wolfe, romped around the world several times having toured with the Rolling Stones, the Eagles, Bob Dylan, Joe Cocker, Elton John, Page & Plant among others. In 1998, Wolfe and Crow band mate Scott Bryan founded MojoSon, a band with a modern blend of psychedelic Rock and Blues, who were signed to A & M records, but since the Universal takeover Todd elected to leave the label and dissolve MojoSon. The Todd Wolfe Blues Project, an off shoot of MojoSon, was born during the downtime from Sheryl Crow tours. They are an edgy, adventurous, boundary pushing blues quartet who mix original material with Howlin' Wolf, Buddy Guy, Otis Rush and Robert Johnson chestnuts. Todd's blues project consist of such luminaries as Chuck Hearne (Flamin' Harry) on bass, Steve Pozzelanti ( B. B. & the Stingers) on drums and Mike Lattrell (Popa Chubby & Christine Santelli Band) on keyboards.
Between touring and recording commitments, Wolfe has played consistent dates on both coasts and has developed an excellent New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania following while hosting Sunday night Jam at NY's Manny's Car Wash, where his current live CD was recorded. He has shared the bill with the likes of Albert Collins, Johnny Winter, Son Seals, Blues Traveler, Robin Trower, the Black Crowes, the Neville Brothers,John Popper band and will be performing once again with the Allman Brothers Band on their summer tour.
His new album, simply entitled WOLFE is being released on ulfTone music on October, 8th 2001. Produced by Ben Elliot at Showplace Studios in Dover, New Jersey, and mastered by Howie Weinberg this work shows Todd Wolfe at his peak and makes us eagerly await their first European tour, scheduled to take place in October 2001 as support act for bass legend JACK BRUCE.
